Sanctuary is an object that appeared in my nightmare and served as a protective shelter against danger; somehow it resembled the image of a mushroom. It was made of wires and the top was covered with resin embedded in a thin layer of tissue paper. The fragile sculpture that I constructed was different to the organic, opaque and firm structure that I dreamed and such changes were to be expected. My work has changed in the creative process as I was no longer building a shelter, I was making a sculpture and the menacing threat diminished in the waking life. I photographed the shadows of Sanctuary and the small scaled sculpture transformed into a large architectural structure.
