We see vacuum cleaners as home appliances, yet they are curious machines in their own right. When using my robotic vacuum, I would occasionally talk to it, e.g. “excuse me, I need to get past you”, unlike regular vacuums.  The automated movement provided them the illusion of life.

I attached sponges with ink and markers to the vacuum and allowed it to make marks by itself. The colours represents live (brown), neutral (blue) and earth (yellow and green) wire. The machine kept going outside the paper so I had to push the vacuum to change its direction, which inevitably became a false human and machine collaboration. I consider it a false collaboration as the machine and I have different agendas and no communications were available.
